To all IRS Officers Today was a new milestone day in the short but eventful history of the Database Cell of CBDT. After operating from a small, makeshift office the Cell moved to a brand new state-of-the-art office premise on the Mezzanine floor of the A.R.A. Centre, Jhandewalan Extn., New Delhi. The new office was formally inaugurated by Shri Shaikh Naimuddin I.R.S., Hon’ble Member (Personnel) of the Central Board of Direct Taxes in a ceremony hosted by Shri K. Vasudevan I.R.S., Director General of Income-Tax (System). Shri Milap Jain I.R.S., DGIT (Inv.) New Delhi and Shri A.K. Jain I.R.S., DGIT (Intelligence) also graced the occasion with their presence. The ceremony was attended by all senior officers of Directorates General of Income Tax (Systems) and BPR. While extending his best wishes to the Database Cell, the Hon’ble Member commended the Directorate of Systems for its exemplary role in modernisation of the functioning of Income Tax Department. He also said that creation of a comprehensive and reliable database as well as developing the web portal for I.R.S. as a one-stop portal for the entire I.R.S. community would be of immense benefit to the Service and that he expected the Database Cell to continue its work with the same level of enthusiasm in future. The Database Cell of CBDT takes this opportunity to thank everyone who had enthusiastically supported and nurtured it from its inception in March 2008. The Board and its Administration have always given encouragement and the Office of the DGIT (Systems) has always provided unfailing support and guidance without which it would not have been possible to reach this milestone in a short span of 7 months. Most of all, it is the enthusiasm and participation of numerous I.R.S. officers from across the country that has fired our morale and spirits in all circumstances. In the end, we invite you to join us on a new voyage. Let us join hands as a unified cadre & community and create a new standard of Government to Employee relationship development through the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT). As promised, you may all look forward to a completely new and interactive web site in near future. Here are some memorable moments in the history of the Database Cell.
